Why Monster Leads All Other Job Sites
If you could only post your resume (or job opening if you are an employer) to one job site, it should be Monster.com. As probably the most well know job site and the one with the most job postings, Monster is your best bet for finding what you need in the job market. For job seekers, you can try and let the large number of employers come to you or spend hours and hours viewing a variety of jobs at many different geographical locations. For employers, you can use Monster Job Postings to show your job opening(s) to hundreds of potential future employees, or use their resume search package to seek out and contact qualified candidates yourself.
According to an article at Onrec.com, Monster leads all other job sites (and has done so for awhile). Here is an excerpt from the article:
“Monster.com leads all other job sites in total number of jobs posted in more than half of the top 50 employment markets in the United States, while newspapers still struggle to effectively present their print and online options to advertisers, a new study showed today.
The report by Classified Intelligence, based on two primary research projects, showed Monster leading all other employment sites in job postings in 27 U.S. job markets, CareerBuilder or its affiliates ahead in 13, and CareerCast or its affiliates ahead in eight. The study viewed job postings as a job-seeker would, counting all of the jobs available for viewing in the specific market on the April day the survey was conducted.”

For Employers – Get a Special Discount on Your Job Postings!
As for site features, Monster.com has about every one you should need whether you are looking for a job or looking to hire someone. This includes free resume posting and resume template builder, job search agents via email, networking, research tools and forums, and additional services such as career advice and resume writing help. While some services cost money to use, for job seekers the majority are free and signing up for an account and posting a resume are always free.
For employers, while it does cost to post jobs on Monster or search for candidates, you get a discount if you buy multiple jobs and Monster allows you to use them at a later date. The prices are really reasonable if you consider the exposure you are getting and the features you get to use, especially if you need to hire multiple people.
Monster’s dominance, available features, and amount of traffic make it one of the top job sites to use. However, the two other big job sites, Yahoo HotJobs and CareerBuilder, should not be ignored either when searching for a new job or a new job candidate. Just remember, it’s always a good idea to cast a wide net in the job market and other sites may have different jobs or candidates that are available.
